Dani Miller is a 4th generation Californian who graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law with honors, after serving as a writer and as the Managing Editor of the Golden Gate University Law Review. She began her career as an insurance coverage, defense and litigation attorney in San Francisco with Nixon Peabody (fka Lillick & Charles), representing various foreign and domestic insurers and cultivating a close relationship with the London market. Ms. Miller’s practice included advising insurers of their rights and obligations and overseeing claims from initial tender through settlement and/or trial of liability and coverage disputes. She became responsible for managing a large insurance coverage practice, supervising defense counsel, negotiating early resolution of complex matters, and directing coverage associates.
In 2005, Ms. Miller accepted a position as General Counsel and Vice President of a national company providing claims management, TPA and other insurance services. Her duties included monitoring claims for consistency of legal positions by the client and the TPA, supervising individual and overall case management, confirming policy limits’ reduction or exhaustion and addressing internal issues of employment, licensing, disaster planning and business management. Ms. Miller was the firm’s primary liaison with the insurer clients, negotiating service contracts and then taking responsibility for compliance with the insurer’s and the firm’s obligations under multiple laws and regulations. She monitored coverage and defense counsel, overseeing their positions, their case management and their fulfillment of various reporting, budgeting, and other client requirements.
She enjoys camping, fishing, and cooking and is active in many local organizations and in Great Dane rescue.
Ms. Miller has joined Koeller, Nebeker, Carlson & Haluck, LLP's Sacramento office. She will be working with the insurance coverage and litigation groups.
