Valencia is a native Floridian. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and a minor in Secondary Education in 1998. Valencia also attended Nova Southeastern University where she earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration and certificates in Finance and Marketing in 2002. Valencia then attended Barry University School of Law where she graduated in 2008.

While in law school, Valencia received the Book Award for Legal Research and Writing II. Valencia also served as a Senior Editor for the SRBLSA Law Journal. During law school she received the Best Oralist Award at the Frederick Douglas Moot Court Competition for the Southern Region of the National Black Law Students Association. Valencia also devoted her time to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), the Black Law Students Association and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

Prior to joining the firm, Valencia worked as an Assistant State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Prior to that, she worked as an Assistant Public Defender in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit.

Valencia is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, through which she is actively involved in community service endeavors. She has also served as an Associate Member of the Calusa Chapter of American Inns of Court and is a member of Florida Blue Key Leadership Honorary.

In her free time, Valencia enjoys spending time with family and friends, volunteering in the community, playing golf, reading and shopping. She especially enjoys watching University of Florida football games with friends.
