Starcee Rivera grew up in Palmetto, FL. After high school, Starcee attended Florida State University where she graduated in 3 years with a B.S. in Criminology and a Minor in Philosophy. A year later, Starcee graduated from the University of Central Florida with a M.S. degree in Criminal Justice and as a member of the Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society. Starcee continued her academic career at Stetson University College of Law where she graduated in 2016 with a Joint J.D./LL.M. in Advocacy.
While in law school, Starcee was a member of Stetson’s #1 trial team, as well as an Intern for the Second District Court of Appeals. Starcee also served on the executive boards of the Stetson Law Parents, Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society and the Black Law Student Association. Prior to joining KNCH, she practiced criminal law at a private firm and as an Assistant Public Defender where she defended both children and adults charged with misdemeanors and felonies and participated in over 20 trials. She also spent time practicing civil litigation and dependency law as an Assistant Regional Counsel.
In her free time, Starcee enjoys playing basketball, spending time with her family and friends and visiting schools and community centers to teach children about their 4th and 5th amendment rights.
