KNCH is proud to take part in sponsoring the Clark County Legal Services (CCLS) 50th Anniversary Party on September 18, 2008 at the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mark Kennedy Shriver will be the keynote speaker at this event.
CCLS is a private, non-profit, public interest law firm that has been providing free legal information, counseling, and representation to eligible low income residents of Clark County since 1958. Their services include aiding victims of consumer fraud, victims of domestic violence, family law issues, Special Education issues as well as the Children‚Äôs Attorney Project, which provides representation to abused and neglected children who are in foster placements or who are wards of the state. Megan Dorsey, managing partner of the Nevada Office of the firm has been a member of the Clark County Legal Services Board of Directors since 2006. The Nevada office of the firm was recognized by the Clark County Bar Association in 2004 as the Medium Sized Law Firm of the year. In 2005, the State Bar of Nevada's Access to Justice commission recognized the firm statewide as its Medium Sized Law Firm of the year and gave special recognition to Megan Dorsey as its Attorney of the Year. The Nevada office presently represents upwards of 10 different pro bono client matters. The sponsorship of the 50th Anniversary of CCLS is in line with the Firm's commitment to pro bono concepts.
