Bill Haluck and Steve Ubl of our Irvine office recently successfully defended one of our Builder clients, in binding arbitration, on a claim that a homeowner had suffered a severe electrical shock injury due to an allegedly defective electrical outlet in her home.
As a result of the injury, the claimant had incurred in excess of $30,000 in medical bills, claimed approximately $175,000 in lost earnings and earning capacity and was forced to change her career due to residual pain. Claimant also alleged spoliation of evidence as it related to the allegedly defective outlet.
Claimant sought in excess of 1.4 million dollars for injuries and her general damages. The arbitrator, appointed by Construction Arbitration Program, found for the Builder client.
