Elika S. Morris is an associate attorney in the San Diego office of Koeller Nebeker Carlson & Haluck LLP (KNCH). She focuses her practice on construction defect litigation and a broad range of civil matters, including premises liability and personal injury defense.
Prior to joining KNCH, Ms. Morris served as in-house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, where she advised on personal injury, subrogation, and other insurance defense matters within the Primary Litigation Unit.
Ms. Morris earned her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 2020. During law school, she was a clinical intern for the California Innocence Project (CIP), advocating against wrongful convictions through trial, appellate, and legislative avenues. Her efforts contributed to the release of a client in 2018. Additionally, she served as an ASL interpreter during legal visits for CIP inmates.
Her commitment to justice led her to serve as a Deputy Public Defender for the Office of the Public Defender in San Diego County, where she drafted and successfully argued motions before the Superior Court of California, focusing on record expungements, certificates of rehabilitation, and other post-conviction relief.
Ms. Morris received the Distinguished Advocate award for her participation in moot court competitions at California Western School of Law. She was also honored with the Anson Levitan Scholarship by the Legal Aid Society of San Diego. As President of the Black Law Student Association, she collaborated with organizations like the NAACP for the 32nd Annual State Convention for California and Hawaii, serving as an advocate, mentor, and judge for youth participants.
