Meet Jay C. Patterson

Jay C. Patterson

Associate

An associate in the Sacramento office at Koeller Nebeker Carlson Haluck, LLP, Jay has honed his experience in litigation and settlement negotiations in a wide variety of subject matters, including contract litigation, consumer law, tort defense, and complex motion practice.  He has represented insured businesses and individuals in personal injury matters ranging from slip-and-fall to wrongful death.

He has achieved excellent results for his clients at KNCH, obtaining dismissals and judgments as often as negotiated settlements.  Jay’s persuasive writing skills in the appellate arena have led to two published appellate decisions in his clients’ favor.

Jay was born and raised in San Jose, California, one of six children.  After finding no success as a rock and roll musician, he attended Santa Clara University where he earned his B.A. in Philosophy, and graduated cum laude with departmental honors and memberships in various honor societies.  He continued on at SCU, School of Law, where he co-chaired the Honors Moot Court Board and represented the university in competition against other national law schools in mock trials in New Orleans and Seattle.  Jay was honored to serve as a judicial extern to the Honorable Jeremy Fogel, of the San Jose Division of the District Court for Northern California, and was proud to be asked to continue working with the Honors Moot Court program after graduation as an adjunct faculty member.

As a self-described nerd, in his free time, Jay enjoys building robots and machines with his three children.
