Judy is a partner in the Phoenix office at Koeller Nebeker Carlson Haluck, LLP. She has over 20 years of experience reviewing, negotiating, drafting and litigating construction and real estate contracts. In her role as a transactional lawyer, Judy has advised clients in the construction industry with a wide range of contractual relationships, including construction contracts, repair contracts, operating agreements, hold harmless and indemnity provisions, non-disclosure agreements, and many more.
With each client, Judy learns their core business, culture, and goals to ensure they receive advice unique to their business needs. Her litigation experience provides her with advantages and insights when assisting clients with their transactional need, helping them mitigate the risk of certain pitfalls which could lead to litigation. Judy has successfully handled numerous contractual disputes and claims both “out of court” and in various state, federal, and arbitration forums. In addition to her construction and real estate practice, she has defended clients in a wide variety of other matters including general liability, bad faith, special education and employment. When not handling litigation or transactional matters, she also enjoys an adoption practice representing adoptive parents.
Judy was raised in Los Angeles, California and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics and Astrophysics from UCLA in 1980. She attended law school at the University of Santa Clara where she graduated in 1990. While in the Silicon Valley, she incorporated and was in-house counsel for numerous high-tech businesses.
When not working she enjoys being outdoors running, hiking, swimming or walking. Judy also enjoys reading with a special love of mysteries and thrillers.
