Maria is a partner at Koeller Nebeker Carlson Haluck, LLP in the Irvine office.  She practices in the areas of general liability defense, including wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases, premises liability and products liability.  She also has extensive experience in the fields of professional and medical malpractice.  Maria has successfully represented a diverse clientele of institutional, corporate and individual clients, in a broad range of litigation matters.

She believes in developing the best defense possible through a collaborative effort and close working relationship with her clients.  Maria zealously represents her clients while endeavoring to maintain a professional relationship with opposing counsel.  She is committed to achieving an optimal result for her clients and believes the best way to achieve this is through strong litigation skills and interpersonal relations.

Maria was born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario and came to California in 1992.  She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario and went on to obtain a diploma in business administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Maria then attended Whittier Law School, graduating magna cum laude, in the top 5% of her class.  She was a member of the Moot Court Honor’s Board where she began honing her oral advocacy skills and coached the school’s competitive moot court team.  While attending law school, she interned at the L.A. County D.A.’s office in the Hard Core Gang and Domestic Violence units, where she tried her first case to a successful verdict. Since graduating, she has returned to sit as a judge for the school’s internal moot court competition.

In her spare time, Maria enjoys traveling abroad and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
