Duane joined the Sacramento office of Koeller Nebeker Carlson Haluck, LLP in August 2023. He is handling a variety of cases, including personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability and construction defect.
Prior to joining KNCH, Duane was a senior litigation attorney with Nationwide Insurance, where he managed cases involving commercial trucking accidents, wrongful death claims, personal injury actions and construction defect complaints. He also was the lead construction defect attorney in the Central Valley of California for Farmers Insurance Company from 2005 to 2015.
Duane has been first chair in approximately twenty-five jury trials and several bench trials. He has tried contract disputes, ERISA claims, construction defect cases, motor vehicle accidents and dog bite incidents. He has also participated in hundreds of mediations and has acted as a mediator on several occasions.
Born in Alabama, Duane has called California home for the past sixty years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1968. After his military service, Duane graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills and then attended Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. He graduated from Hastings in 1976 and became a member of the California Bar in 1976.
Married to his lovely wife Janet for 52 years, they are the parents of two sons, and grandparents of two grandsons and two granddaughters. When not watching grandkids or sporting events, Duane likes to take his hacks on the golf course.
