OVERVIEW:   Mid-sized AV-rated Multi-state downtown Las Vegas civil litigation defense firm seeks associate with 3-5 years experience.  Position entails case management on large and complex files, law and motion and civil discovery practice.  Data/Analysis experience a plus.  The candidate should be energetic, outgoing and a motivated self-starter w/ a strong ability to work well in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.   Competitive salary w/ 21 days paid time off, 401K and paid downtown parking.  Immediate opening.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case evaluation, issue recognition, case handling recommendations, and support.
• Communicate with client and counsel.
• Propound and respond to discovery.
• Perform legal research and draft memoranda.
• Draft complaints, motions, and other pleadings and documents.
• Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
• Prepare for and argue motions at court hearings.
• Prepare for and attend mediation.
• Interest in going to trial and arbitration.
• Provide excellent service to all clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• In good standing with the Nevada Bar.
• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and to multitask while demonstrating strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• General familiarity with courts, E-Filing, Excel, Word, IManage, Outlook, Serengeti Tracker, Time Matters, and PowerPoint.
