The Phoenix office of KNCH continues to support the homeless in Maricopa County, packing “Hope Totes Hygiene Kits” to support the Phoenix Rescue Mission which serves over 7,000 people faced with homelessness each night.
Homelessness in the Phoenix area was on the rise even before the pandemic, and last year there was an 11 percent increase over the previous year. The truth is, it can happen to anyone, anytime. When circumstances change in life – loss of a job, divorce, violence, mental illness, or bills that cannot be paid, life can get out of control. This was especially true with the altering circumstances due to COVID-19.
While Arizona has a serious problem with homelessness, the Phoenix Rescue Mission is making an impact. It has been a place of hope, healing, and new beginnings for men, women, and children in the community struggling with homelessness, addiction, and trauma.
